Crispy Sardine fish fry( chala meen varuthathu)

 


Sardine/chala/matthi fish fry with rice is our comfort food.Curried or fried chala fish tastes delicious. This small fish has great flavor and rich in protein, calcium and fatty acids.It is very good for healthy. Chala fish fry is very easy to prepare dish.


Crispy sardine fish fry

Preparation time - 20 min

Cooking time - 10 min

Serves - 4- 5 person

Ingredients

Sardine/Chala /matthi fish- 500gm

Chilly powder-3to 4 tsp

Turmeric powder - 1 tsp

Pepper powder - 1 tsp

Curry leaves-3 springs

Salt - to taste

Coconut oil - 100ml for frying



Method

Clean and make gashes in sardine and drain out the excess water.

In a bowl mix together ingredients from by adding required salt.

Add this paste to the fish and rub it into it, let it sit for sometime.

Heat a pan add oil for frying,once hot add the fish pieces and bring down the flame.

Cover using a lid and fry in low flame for 5minutes 

Turn the fish to other side and cover the lid for 5 minutes.

Fish till turn the crispy.
