I would like to add variations in my homemade preparation garam masala powder.
Garam masala powder
Preparation time -10 min
Cooking time - 15 min
Serve - 1 little jar
Ingredients
Coriander seeds/ Dhaniya - 1/2 cup
Cumin seeds / jeeragam - 1/4cup
Dry Red chilly / vathal milakai- 5 to 10
Dry Kashmiri chilly - 5
Ani seeds / sombu - 3 tsp
Mustard seeds/ kadugu- 1 tsp
Poppy seeds/ kasakasa- 1 tsp
Pepper corn / milaku - 3 tsp
Kapok buds/ Marathi moggu - 5
Caradamom/ elakkai- 3tsp
Cinnamon / lavanga pattai - 2 inch
Cinnamon cassia pattai/ karuva pattai - 2 inch
Cloves/ lavangam/ grambu - 1 tsp
Star anise / anasi poo - 5
Mace/ Jathi pathri -2
Black caradamom/ karupu elakai - 5
Nut meg / jathi kai -2
Fenugreek leaf/ venthaya ilai - 2tsp
Bay leaf/ birinji leaf - 5
Dry Ginger/ Sukku - 1 inch
Whole Turmeric / manjal-2
Method
Heat the pan, first add the coriander seeds in medium flame .Roasted well.Transfer the plate keep it aside.
Then add the cumin seeds.roasted and keep aside.
Roasted Turmeric and nut meg is crushed separately .
Then add the other items one by one added together roasted and keep aside.
Keep cool down in 10 minutes.
Take a mixie jar or blender jar.
Add all the spices in jar .powder finely.
Mix all ingredients together and one more coarse the powder.
Store the garam masala in Airtight container.
You will little add the masala in gravy .It taste will be aromatic and flavour .Try it..use it..and must comment it..,,😋😋
